‘The last Friday of term saw the Sixth Form truly get into the Christmas spirit after a packed term of work, more work and community action.
At lunchtime the Christmas Chapel service was, as always, an uplifting event with Reverend Howard on great dramatic form and superb music from staff and students. Particular highlights must be Mrs Orton on the glockenspiel and Molly Symonds on Sax. There were poignant readings and enthusiastic singing of classic carols. This as finished off with mince pies and mulled wine (non-alcoholic of course) in the Sixth Form Centre.
However these were only the preliminaries for the traditional fancy dress Christmas dinner in the evening. Costumes ranged from the creative to the ridiculous and the catering team, as always, put on a tremendous feast with all the trimmings.
As always the evening ended with a very loud, very passionate and somewhat competitive rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas sung round the tables in House groups. The evening left everyone ready for the festive season and with a sense that the community of Sixth Form is a joy to be a part of.’
