Viva Espana!

'On Friday 10 November, Upper Sixth Spanish students Sam Bird (Upper Sixth, Harcourt) Grace Henstone (Upper Sixth, Queen Anne), Tamara Lloyd (Upper Sixth, Queen Anne) and Sofia Ward-Naranjo (Upper Sixth, Queen Anne), along with their teachers Mrs Semenzato and Miss Harris, travelled to Granada in Spain to soak up some Andalusian culture, food, a bit of sun and most importantly language!

We did a guided walking tour of the city, learning about the fascinating mixture of cultures that have shaped the city’s architecture and people over the centuries, and went to see a very evocative flamenco show up in one of the traditional caves of the historical and vibrant Sacromonte neighbourhood which was a real highlight for us all on the Saturday evening. Saving the best until last, we visited the magnificent Alhambra palace on the Sunday, going on a four hour guided tour in Spanish after which we all felt we thoroughly deserved a plate piled high with Churros and a large cup of thick hot chocolate to go with them, as tradition demanded.'
