The Design and Technology Reunion Dinner was held on Friday 15 September. Current and former Design and Technology staff including Mr Walton, Mrs Rushton and Mrs Hammond and current students Kate Fisher (Upper Sixth, Gascoigne), Mathew Turner (Upper Sixth, Feilden), Nathan Black (Upper Sixth, Harcourt) and Felix Macken (Lower Sixth, Vanbrugh) were joined by Old Cokethorpeans to reminisce about times past but also to reflect on the progress of Cokethorpe School and the DT department since they left.
During the drinks reception everyone enjoyed the opportunity to visit the department to peruse a display of A Level work from as far back as 2009, to catch up, to network and to see the latest 3D printers and CAM equipment installed this year. Before dinner, scratch teams took part in a design challenge and although the best design and most sophisticated engineering was completed by Dave Needham (OC 2010, Swift), Michael Staples (OC 2009, Swift) and Adam Hopcroft (OC 2008, Queen Anne), the challenge was eventually won by David Mallet (OC 2014, Gascoigne), Cate Moglia (OC 2014, Harcourt) and Mr White (with help from Mrs Scaysbrook). Conversation continued non-stop and following a magical dinner in the Dining Hall. Guests departed with a keen desire to repeat the event again next year.
