Tudor Kings and Queens!

On Monday 19 June, Year 3 visited Sulgrave Manor; a superb example of a modest manor house of Shakespeare’s time and home to the ancestors of George Washington.

The children dressed as Tudor children on arrival and each took an authentic packed lunch to add to the excitement of the day. We walked in the Great Hall, Kitchen and Bedchamber amongst the furniture and artefacts of the period, seeing the rooms as they looked in the time of Lawrence Washington who bought the estate from Henry V111 in 1539, hoping to catch a glimpse of a ghostly figure or two!  The children acted out the story of the Tudor Kings and Queens and even partook in a Tudor dance!
