Congratulations to Cokethorpe Equestrian team who came sixth in the Royal Windsor Horse Show, set in the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle. The team had qualified for the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) Intermediate SJ Finals back in January at Cherwell Competition Centre.
On arrival at the show, they had the chance to have a quick look around and see the arena before meeting up with Headmaster, Mr Ettinger for a quick 'team talk'. The challenging course meant a few teams had already been eliminated before Cokethorpe came forward to ride.
Isabelle Smith (Second Form, Queen Anne) was first to ride, followed by Ella Cammack (Third Form, Swift), Faith Jolleys (Year 6, Lockwood) and LuisaMae Lisi (Upper Sixth, Harcourt). Izzy rode a brilliant clear round, and although the remaining team members picked up faults from falling poles, they completed the course and managed to secure themselves a strong position.
At the end of the competition, Team Cokethorpe had done enough to secure sixth place. Faith Jolleys said: 'The whole experience was amazing, the arena was incredibly exciting and the crowds really got behind the children and were cheering everyone on.'
