As part of the Year 6 Life Skills Programme the children completed a Mini Medic First Aid training course this week.
They successfully learnt some simple First Aid skills which could help them to deal with medical emergencies.
One of the key areas of the course was learning how to perform CPR to a casualty and how to use a defibrillator safely.
The children also learnt how to dress wounds and stop bleeding, what to do if someone is choking and how to treat someone who is in shock.
The 3 hour course was extremely useful and gave the children the chance to learn a hands on approach to First Aid.
