Lent Term Gig Night

Once again an audience has been treated to another night of fantastic performances at this terms Gig Night. As always there were truly too many good performances reflect on all of them but I would like to mention some our first time performers. Tabitha Howard (First Form Vanbrugh) sang a lovely version of Ho Hey by the Lumineers, Alexander Brown (Second Form, Queen Anne) and Hugo Robathan (Second Form, Gascoigne) played a swinging version of Duke Ellington’s C Jam Blues, and Poppy Wehrle (Third Form, Queen Anne) played a jazzy version of the theme from the show Taxi, a tune called Angela, on flute complete with improvisation. The show also featured the first all-female band consisting of Khadija Karrouchi (Second Form, Harcourt), Ella Shaw (Second Form, Harcourt), Zoe Smith (Second Form, Vanbrugh), Ruby Colleton (Second Form, Gascoigne) and Lucia Scott (Second Form, Feilden).

If you haven’t experienced a Gig Night you are missing out on a fantastic night of Cokethorpe pupils at their creative best. The Summer Term Gig Night will be a great way to round off the academic year.
