Pandemonium on Theatre Trip

A2 Drama students enjoyed another trip to the theatre this term when they saw a contemporary version of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion at Warwick Arts Centre.

The evening began with a visit to the neighbouring Mead Gallery where the works of India's foremost contemporary artist Subodh Gupta were displayed. The performance by Headlong Theatre was a fascinating example of how classic plays can be updated to speak to a new generation. The story of flower girl Eliza Doolittle, used as an experiment for phonetics expert Higgins to win a bet, was well observed and full of great comic moments juxtaposed with heartbreak.
