'On Wednesday 22 February 2017, the children in Year 4 enjoyed an exciting visit to The Corinium Museum in Cirencester.
We were trying to find out what life was like in Roman Britain. We were able to handle real Roman artefacts such as samples of pottery and tesserae. We enjoyed the experience of dressing up in Roman style clothes and examining beautiful items of Roman jewellery. We also played some Roman games such as Knucklebones and Tabula. These reminded us of games of strategy, such as chess and draughts.
Whilst touring the museum, we were able to view some excellent examples of real Roman mosaic floors and a model of a hypocaust system. During this visit, we discovered many fascinating facts about this period of History.'
