Bedfordia Cross Country Race

Year 5 and 6 children took part, for the first time this year, in The Bedfordia Cross Country race. It was a highly competitive event with over 300 runners in both the boys’ and the girls’ categories.

The girls ran a distance of 2000m around Lincroft School in Oakley and although the course was challenging we had some very encouraging results; Mae Serjeant (Year 5, Baker) finished in 23rd place, which augurs well for the future as she was running against some very experienced Year 6 girls. The boys tackled a slightly longer course, 2300m, and Findlay Knox (Year 5, Baker) was our highest placed runner finishing in a very credible 53rd place.

All of those who took part found the experience of running at a major event greatly beneficial and under Mr Van Zyl’s continued guidance we look forward to even greater results in the future.
