The 20th Gig Night saw a change in style for the audience from tiered seating to a new jazz club layout, compered by two Cokethorpe music legends.
Heidi Lawson (Upper Sixth, Gascoigne) and Tom Christensen (Upper Sixth, Swift) stood alongside the two stages - acoustic and electric - and provided the audience with an entertaining commentary on the acts. Mr Mullin regaled parents, staff and pupils with the usual witty repartee and juggled microphones to roars of laughter when jumping between the stages. There were some standout performances from the likes of Eilish Malliagh (Upper Sixth, Feilden), Billy Morrison (Fourth Form, Vanbrugh) and the comperes themselves. Indeed, the quality of music overall was very high, with impressive talents displayed all the way from First Form to Upper Sixth.

This was the final Gig Night for many performers, including Wilf Cartwright (Fifth Form, Queen Anne), whose impressive abilities across a variety of instruments have allowed him to accompany countless other Cokethorpe musicians over the past few years. The night finished on a high with Wilf accompanying Theo Serjeant (First Form, Swift) and Tom Alford (Third Form, Swift) in a rendition of Formula One theme The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, with Mr Mullin on vocals.
