‘On Tuesday 28 June, Third Form pupils took part in an emergency exercise as part of their Wellbeing Integrity Toolkit lessons.
The aim of the session was to test the pupils’ ability to deal with challenging situations. The exercise was based around a simulated road traffic incident, and included various categories of casualty, a heavily pregnant woman and an annoying bystander! The event was staged by Cokethorpe staff and pupils, providing a fantastic opportunity for Drama students to practice acting amongst their peers.
After the initial shock of facing a number of challenges simultaneously, the pupils tested their ability to communicate, control and lead under pressure. Pupils said that they enjoyed the experience and learned about how they might respond to an emergency situation.’
