‘On Saturday 18 June we were delighted to welcome former pupils from all eras, their wives and partners, former staff and current staff to Cokethorpe for the annual Reunion Dinner.
After a successful Sports Festival on the Friday evening and during the day on the Saturday, it was lovely to see so many players attend to celebrate their successes.
As guests arrived they were greeted by Jazz music from Cokethorpe’s very own Mr Mullin and Harry Creak (Lower Sixth, Feilden). Whilst reminiscing and sharing memories during the Drinks Reception, the Old Cokethorpeans, staff and friends were entertained by local magician San Strange. After the traditional group photo was taken, guests made their way into the Dining Hall for a delicious three course meal. Stories and experiences were not the only things being shared by the Old Cokethorpeans. Business cards were also exchanged, photos passed around and old friendships were revived. In between courses guests were treated to yet more magic from Sam and there was plenty of laughter and cheer around the Dining Hall.
Tony Baker (OC 1964, Harcourt), Chairman of the Cokethorpe Society, then said a few words about the Society and after a hot drink the evening sadly came to a close. Many Old Cokethorpeans carried on the celebrations and festivities in Witney and Oxford until the early hours of the morning! Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a memorable event.’
