A pleasant evening was had by all at the Society event held at the East India Club on Thursday 10 March. The intimate setting and relaxed atmosphere allowed the OCs an opportunity to network, and as wine and conversation flowed, new friends and business were made.
The Headmaster was in attendance to share memories and experiences at Cokethorpe and update the OCs on how the School has developed since they left, which for some was over 50 years ago.
When the School received HMC status in 2008, it gained honorary membership to the East India Club. The elegant clubhouse in St James’s Square is situated in the heart of London, just a few hundred yards from Piccadilly Circus. It’s central location allowed OCs to travel from as far as the midlands to share in the evening’s festivities.
This annual event is well received and as a result there will be another in the calendar next year. As well as this more formal event, we have introduced social events in London and Oxford and all OCs are welcome. The next society event is the Sports Festival and Reunion Dinner on Saturday 18 June and we look forward to seeing you there.
