'On Wednesday 2 March, Year 4 children embarked on an exciting visit to The Corinium Museum in Cirencester. This experience supported the History Curriculum, enhancing the children’s understanding of life in Roman Britain. The children were able to examine and handle real Roman artefacts such as jewellery and samples of pottery and tesserae (individual tiles from a mosaic).
Whilst exploring the museum, the children were able to view some excellent examples of mosaic floors, Roman columns and carvings. Their activity session included the opportunity to dress up in Roman style costumes and to play Roman games such as Knucklebones and Tabula. This trip gave the children a good insight into what life was like in Roman Britain.'
