‘The Upper and Lower Sixth Design and Technology students visited the Mini Plant factory on Thursday 11 February. It was an interesting, fact-filled trip around a factory that employed around 27,000 people in its heyday. It now has around 4,000 employees and over 1000 robots assembling a range of BMW Mini cars.
It was great to see Thomas Deabill (OC 2015, Swift), a former Cokethorpe pupil, serving an apprenticeship at the plant. Thom joined our students on the tour around his workplace, providing these current pupils with knowledge of the products and apprenticeships offered by BMW. His company was much appreciated.’
