Junior School Christmas Card Competition

This year Cokethorpe School launched it's first ever Christmas Card Competition. Aimed at Junior School children, they were given the opportunity to draw, paint and collage a picture with a Christmas theme in mind over a two week period. A winner would be chosen from all the entrants and that design would be made into a Christmas card sent out by the Headmaster in the festive period.

Lots of children entered the competition from Reception all the way through to Year 6, and there was such a variety of Christmas designs. We had Christmas raptor dinosaurs, robins and Christmas trees made with hands, reindeer and Father Christmas’s.

It was a tough decision for the Headmaster to choose a winning entry that he even wanted to put them all on the card! However after much deliberation and decision changing, Mr Ettinger had made his decision.

I am pleased to announce that the winning picture that will take pride of place on the front of the Christmas card this year was drawn by Halfdan Reinboth (Year 3, Lockwood). There was also a second winner selected whose drawing will be displayed on the back of the card, congratulations to Jamie Wehrle (Year 6, Symonds).

Finally, a huge well done to all the Junior School children for their imaginative and colourful Christmas card designs. You can see all the fantastic designs in the photo gallery below.
