Sixth Form Debut at Mace Debate

Sixth Formers Ed Rick (Upper Sixth, Harcourt) and Lydia Johnstone (Lower Sixth, Vanbrugh) represented the School for the first time on Monday 23 November 2015 at The English Speaking Union’s Mace debate. The event took place at Cheltenham Ladies College with our team opposing the motion ‘this house would force the BBC to implement diversity quotas for casts of all their shows’. Although the team met with success in their own debate, the winning team proposed the motion ‘this house would only imprison violent offenders, and would give all non-violent offenders non-custodial sentences’. We wish them better luck in their next competition.
