Flames and Explosions at the CPA Fireworks Extravaganza

A wet and windy November afternoon was the prelude to a clear and still night, perfect for the CPA Fireworks Extravaganza. Funfair rides, a delicious pig roast and BBQ, warming mulled wine and soup all contributed to a fabulous family evening.

When the enormous bonfire was ably lit by Mr Stevens, hundreds of visitors, parents and pupils watched from a safe distance as flames leaped up, four metres above the fields. As the fire began to die down, people gathered at the front of the mansion to witness the wonderful firework display explode into action.

The weather could not have been better and as the epic finale of the fireworks came to a close, many stayed to soak up the atmosphere of this popular annual event.

Of course, an evening on this scale could not happen without the help of many volunteers, in addition to the CPA committee members. Our thanks go to Mrs Bennett in the Box Office, the Senior School Office, the Marketing Department, Claire Sheldon and the catering team, and Keith and his merry team of maintenance men for all their hard work before, during and after the evening.
