In the first half of the Summer Term, all members of the Fourth Form undertook their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Practice Expedition.
Based at Hill End in Farmoor, in their groups, the Fourth Form had two days of navigation in various terrain. On the first day, as they navigated themselves around the reservoir, each group was looking for stamps to aid their progress. At first they were helped by a member of staff, however once they had proven themselves they were left to guide themselves back to base camp. Then after a hearty, own cooked meal and a good night’s rest, they had to navigate the final day through the tricky Wytham Woods themselves.
Every group passed their practice expedition and are now planning for their final assessments in Curriculum Enrichment Week.
