The Tree Of Life

Junior School children have been working hard all term with Mrs Hammond and Mrs Ross on individual pieces of Art to decorate The Tree of Life.

Inspired by the artist Gustav Klimt's painting, The Tree of Life, each child produced a creature that was then arranged around a gold papier-mâché tree. The wonderfully colourful installation was positioned in the entrance hall of the Mansion House and parents were encouraged to produce a mini art creation of their own by colouring in a leaf luggage label and then hanging it on the tree.

Each year group concentrated on a different area. For example, Year 6 produced wood and metal fishes made in their Design and Technology lessons, Year 5 produced wire and papier-mâché tropical birds, Year 4 produced wet felt and wire and tissue paper flowers, Year 3 produced printed and clay owls, Year 2 made papier-mâché chameleons, Year 1 painted stones to look like ladybirds and Reception made 3D models of The Hungry Caterpillar.
