The opportunity to forgo wearing School uniform is always popular with pupils, perhaps second only to the opportunity to buy cakes and hot chocolate!
On the last day before the half term break, pupils raised over £850 in support of Ha Fusi School in Lesotho, where a group of Sixth Form students will be visiting in July.
The money will be spent on various projects, including one to plant fruit trees in and around the school campus. This will help reduce the impact of the rains on the thin soil whilst also helping the school develop a sustainable income through the sale of the fruit. Other plans include improving the road access to the school (it is currently inaccessible unless on foot) and refurbishing a classroom block. There are plans afoot for more fundraising activities in the Summer – so watch this space!
