Visits from New Zealand Partner School

The Year 4 children recently enjoyed a visit from Mrs Anne Spiers from New Zealand.

Mrs Spiers is a primary school teacher from Tauranga on the North Island of New Zealand. She and her various classes have enjoyed an email link with Cokethorpe Junior School for several years. This is her third visit to Great Britain and Cokethorpe has welcomed her on each occasion.

The children listened carefully as Mrs Spiers talked about her country, her teaching and her cat, Noah! She presented the Year 4 children with some delicious kiwi fruit chocolate, stickers of kiwi birds and rugby shirts. Mrs Spiers also led a Jump Jam session, which is a New Zealand fitness programme linked to dance moves. The children and their teachers had a great time jumping and dancing around The Corinthian Room.

Before she left, Mrs Spiers was presented with a Cokethorpe umbrella which we hope she will use in New Zealand and help to make the Cokethorpe name become global!
