Two teams of Cokethorpe students entered the Rotary Club of Britain and Ireland’s annual Youth Speaks competition on Thursday 14 November.
Congratulations go to Edward Charter (Third Form, Vanbrugh), Samara Clark (Third Form, Feilden) and team leader Wilf Cartwright (Third Form, Queen Anne) for winning their category. They now progress to the Area Round which takes place at Witney’s Congregation Church in February.
Katie Procter (Lower First, Feilden), Rhianna Gibson (Lower First, Feilden) and Abbey Malin (Lower First, Feilden) did very well to be runners up in their category, which was their first public speaking competition.
Both teams spoke eloquently and tackled challenging topics concerning gender rights and environmentalism.
