Junior School Harvest Appeal

This term the Junior School supported a local charity called Cotswold Volunteers. The charity runs Befriending Services, a Community Transport Service, Lunch Clubs and social events.

The children took home Cuppa cups and collected an assortment of coins and notes. A fantastic total of £700 was collected, counted and put into money bags by the children. A cheque for this huge amount was presented in assembly to Mrs Amanda Howard who works for the charity. She thanked the children and explained that the money will provide a wonderful Christmas meal and party for many elderly people in the Cotswold area. The children also brought in a lovely selection of jigsaw puzzles, packs of playing cards, board games and birthday and Christmas cards to entertain the elderly people.

Cotswold Volunteers also ensures that the people they support receive a card on their birthdays and at Christmas. The children and staff at Cokethorpe have been delighted to help such a hard-working, local charity.
