The atmosphere in our classrooms is of lively participation. Our teachers are passionate about their subjects, their teaching dynamic, innovative and creative, and the rapport between them and their pupils exceptional.

We offer a curriculum that gives pupils the chance to pursue individual abilities, with both traditional and modern subjects, those that are highly academic and others that are more practical. We are as proud of those who gain entry to Oxbridge as we are of those who surpass personal expectations. Support is tailored closely to pupils’ needs and progress is continuously monitored.

We will add value to your children’s achievements through a breadth of experiences that support their work in the classroom. They will enjoy a diversity of academic and cultural trips and in-school activities. In addition, through independent study in the inspirational library and a sensible use of the Internet, they will discover true learning. Our aim is to foster intellectual curiosity, independent thinking and the highest performance of which each individual is capable. We will encourage your children to value and enjoy learning as a life-long process.

Academic departments at Cokethorpe are responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the examined curriculum. Each is overseen by a Head of Department, who in turn are overseen by the Director of Studies. Our graduate teaching body are all dedicated and committed to the success of their subject. Each department's web page gives an idea of what goes on in classes throughout the GCSE and A Level years, and a general guide to the curriculum in the early years of the senior school is also available.
