Trips and Extra-Curricular Activities

Trips and events support the curriculum and help the children meet our high academic, behavioural and social expectations. These include visits to museums, the Cheltenham Festival of Literature, Cogges Farm, Sulgrave Manor, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and theatre trips.

Children take part in regular activities such as the Evening of the Arts, themed days on poetry, languages and food, drama performances, music concerts and inter-house events. In addition the Life Education Bus, the Mexicolore Aztec and Shakespeare workshops and many other visiting speakers and demonstrations will give them exciting and stimulating experiences.

Sport and The Arts play a strong part in the Junior School. Children take part in core sports on two afternoons a week, including competitive fixtures, with the additional options of golf, judo or dance available as part of the Junior School Activities Scheme. There are two main musical drama productions each year – at Christmas and during Prize Giving at the end of the Summer Term – where every single child has a speaking or singing role. In addition they will have the opportunity to take part in other concerts and recitals throughout the year. The dedicated art room is a riot of colour and creativity with displays decorating the corridors and classroom walls.
