Welcome from the Head of Junior School

Welcome to Cokethorpe Junior School.

I am delighted to take on the role of Acting Head of Junior School for the remainder of this academic year. We are all looking forward to welcoming Mrs Nicky Black, who we are pleased to announce will be the new Head of Junior School from September. Mrs Black will join us from Dulwich College and she will find the children in the Junior School to be excellent company, they are great fun, hard-working and eager to be involved.

We want them to make the most of being in an environment which encourages them to aim higher, try harder and expect more of themselves. This could be in the classroom, on the games field or during one of the many Junior School activities.

As they progress through the School we aim to equip them with the necessary academic and social skills to enable them to develop into happy, confident children who make the most of all of the inspiring opportunities that school life offers.

Expectations for work and behaviour are high; we challenge children to exceed their suggested potential in class. Learning must be fun too, and our talented, dedicated and creative teaching staff provide a wealth of learning opportunities, both within the classroom and in the wider environment.

Visitors often comment about the exceptional classroom atmosphere and the warmth of the welcome they receive and I do encourage you to come and experience this for yourselves.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our School.
