Track and Field Athletics runs during the Summer Term with athletes following a structured training programme throughout the year including specialist sessions for each event in the summer.

Cross country is predominantly run during the Michaelmas and Lent Terms and with substantial grounds Cokethorpe is able to host many county cross country competitions. With our extensive yet challenging school grounds Cokethorpe will host the first round of the ESAA Cross Country Championship in October and an invitational event for primary schools from across the county. The Cross Country teams enjoy travelling around the region competing in the best competitions against the best performing schools.

The athletics programme at Cokethorpe is now embarking on its second year of a three year development plan that is already delivering results. Cokethorpe athletes are regularly selected for the Oxfordshire County squad and some of those pupils have competed at national level. We provide opportunities for all pupils to take part in cross country and athletics events and have witnessed the positive impact it has during the Inter-House Sports Day each year.
