Discover our Approach to Learning

Whether at the earliest stages of learning or in the final preparations for A Levels, expert consideration is given to the approaches to learning at each stage of a pupil’s academic development at Cokethorpe.

Providing Exceptional Breadth

The extensive range of clubs, societies and activities offered to pupils – 35 in the Prep School and over 160 in the Senior School – are an integral part of the School’s educational offer and are designed to complement and supplement our academic programme.

Leadership and Liberal Education

The provision of a Liberal Education is at the heart of the School’s methodology, shaping our approach to learning, to Co-Curricular life, and to our pastoral provisions. Leadership is equally integral to the School’s approach, actively striving to imbue all of our pupils with leadership qualities that will see them succeed in all aspects of life after school.

A Supportive Community

The pastoral provision at Cokethorpe is one of the great strengths of the School and has directly evolved from its ethos of being community and family focused. The value placed on celebrating the achievements and successes of all our pupils helps further the feeling of mutual support among the pupils, whilst the School’s formal pastoral structures ensure every pupil has the means to thrive.
